The Child’s Play series shifted toward horror-comedy in its later installments, a stark departure in tone from the first few films. In November last year, a report citing Chinese suppliers claimed that Apple began testing folding iPhones for a launch in 2022. Bloomberg today corroborated that rumor with a new report about Apple now working on an iPhone with a foldable screen — although the launch schedule is unknown. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a new iPhone model that can be folded. This new version is expected to compete with similar Samsung devices such as Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip....

BlackBerry had its big event this morning to officially launch its new BlackBerry Passport smartphone and (surprise, surprise) it’s also joining in on the iPhone bashing usually reserved for the Android and Windows manufacturers. Apple is considering future iPhone models with some drastic changes in design. The Bloomberg report details two major differences to the current iPhone lineup, although it sounds like the projects are tentative and experimental; at the very least these features are still years away from shipping. The report says Apple is testing an iPhone display that can detect gestures from fingers without actually touching the screen, almost like ‘hovering’ over a UI element....

A new Bluetooth security flaw has been discovered that would potentially allow an attacker to connect to a user device without authentication. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), the body responsible for Bluetooth standards, has confirmed vulnerabilities separately discovered by two teams of security researchers… The organization issued a brief statement. Apple protects against some forms of Bluetooth attack by requiring apps to ask user permission before a connection is initiated....

No Time to Die actress Lashana Lynch won’t confirm reports that she is the new 007. Coming off her breakout performance as Maria Rambeau in 2019’s blockbuster Captain Marvel, Lynch will appear alongside Daniel Craig in the newest Bond adventure, the 25th film in the long-running series. Originally set to be helmed by Danny Boyle, No Time to Die finally landed in the hands of director Cary Fukunaga, with long-time Bond veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade penning the script....

Could this be the rear case of the long-rumored low-cost iPhone? Tactus (via Macrumors) thinks so. While Tactus doesn’t have a notable track-record in such leaks, the design does appear reasonably consistent with the majority of rumors so far.
