CBS is set to deliver its presentation at the network upfronts, which will include a first look at many of the network’s new dramas and comedies, as well as its upcoming offerings for CBS All Access. As the fall TV schedule is beginning to take shape across all the broadcast networks, it looks as though CBS is doing more shuffling around than its competitors, and it’s also bringing in some potential heavy hitters in the drama department, with Evil the new drama from The Good Wife and The Good Fight creators Michelle and Robert King.
In addition to having the creative energies of the Kings, Evil boasts an impressive cast that features former Luke Cage star Mike Colter (he also had a recurring role in The Good Wife), Westworld’s Katja Herbers (she played the Man in Black’s daughter), and former Person of Interest star Michael Emerson. It also looks as though it will fill an interesting niche on broadcast television, potentially filling the void left by such shows as The X-Files and The Exorcist.

But the CBS fall 2019 TV schedule isn’t all about Evil. The network also has the legal drama All Rise, starring another Luke Cage star, Simone Missick, as well as comedies The Unicorn with Walton Goggins, Bob Hearts Abishola, and Carol’s Second Act. It’s interesting that CBS is essentially giving up on any new programming for Saturday nights (aside from 48 Hours). Instead, the network will run encores of its primetime dramas, though it remains to be seen which ones and how they’ll be chosen. Additionally, it looks as though the network is reinforcing Friday nights as its block of action-oriented dramas by moving Magnum P.I. from Mondays and holding on to MacGyver season 3 until midseason.
