While taking a taxi, Uber, or even Lyft when you’re drunk is generally a good idea, it doesn’t prevent every poor decision. A drunk man by the name of Kenny Bachman took a ride ‘home’ to his house in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The issue is he was no longer in Philadelphia.

As reported by NJ.com, Bachman woke up after a long nap in an Uber and realized he was in Morgantown, West Virginia, not Philadelphia. “I’m thinking, ‘Why the f— am I in the car next to some random-ass dude I don’t even know?” Bachman said.

Bachman said that by the time he woke up, he was already several hours away from home and decided to complete the trip instead of asking the driver to drive all the way back. The trip cost $1,635.93, and he even gave the driver toll money for the trip back, and rated him five stars.

Unfortunately, surge pricing was in full effect, costing Bachman a lot more money than it would’ve typically cost him. To make matters worse, he ordered the larger Uber XL, which costs even more money.

Bachman originally complained to Uber, but Uber said there was nothing they could do and that this was in full compliance with Uber’s Terms of Service. Bachman ultimately paid the fare in full.

Moral of the story is, take an Uber if you know you’ve had one too many drinks. However, make sure you know where you’re going, otherwise you’ll pay the price.
