Carson Kressley from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and RuPaul’s Drag Race defended Justin Timberlake amid his hand-holding scandal, calling it totally innocent. Kressley’s comments were made while out on the town with friend and former Dancing With the Stars pro Kim Johnson.
Kressley was weighing in on the recent controversy plaguing the pop star: Timberlake was caught on tape in a compromising position with his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright while on a break from filming in New Orleans. The actors were secretly recorded holding hands and at one point, and Wainwright’s hand found its way onto Timberlake’s knee. The footage and still shots were taken at a distance from the balcony on which the actors were sitting with cast and crew members drinking beer. Since Kressley and Johnson were out on the town with arms locked, he saw it as an ample opportunity to playfully mock the Timberlake gaffe.
According to Too Fab, the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star joked, “We’re not together she’s married, I swear!” He laughed, “No no no, no Justin Timberlake action here!” Kressley then went on to explain to the paparazzi that he saw nothing wrong with Timberlake’s behavior in the images. He insisted, “He was holding hands. I know the body language.” Kressley gave his two-cents, saying, “I think it was totally innocent.” Even Johnson, who met her husband Robert Herjavec while paired together on Dancing With the Stars, felt that the affection was nothing more than friendly interaction.
In the incendiary photos and footage, Timberlake can be seen with his fingers caressing and interlocked with Wainwright’s under a chair. At one point, the actress leans in and places her hand on his knee as they engage in a private moment with each other. Throughout the encounter, they appear to be surrounded by other people. Did they or didn’t they? That’s the question regarding the salacious pictures of Timberlake and Wainwright.
While the photos captured hand-holding and a bit of flirty closeness, that’s not the issue. Sure, he could have been drunk (as it’s been reported), and she could have just misread the moment and gotten a bit too close for comfort. What should be concerning for people is the innocent person on the other side of this photo: Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel. No woman wants to be confronted with even the slightest assumption that her husband is cheating, much less flirting with someone else while at work. As for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Kressley, his quip was a clever way to capitalize on a hot-bed moment in celebrity gossip.
