The newest international poster for Marvel and Disney’s Captain Marvel gives off a very Green Lantern vibe. The latest art arrives just a day after Captain Marvel dropped a new TV spot during the Super Bowl, featuring new footage from the highly-anticipated MCU movie.

Touted as the first MCU film headed up solely by a female character, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as a cosmic superhero who falls to earth in the 1990s and soon finds herself battling an alien menace called the Skrulls. Larson’s Captain Marvel also meets up with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, before he lost his eye (with Jackson receiving a CGI de-aging assist). The movie also stars Jude Law as a character believed to be Yon-Rogg, a role originally offered to Keanu Reeves.

As the marketing build-up to Captain Marvel continues, Marvel Studios and Disney have unveiled a new international poster that puts Larson front-and-center with dramatic assistance from Jackson and Law. The poster teases Captain Marvel’s teammates in the Starforce, a group of alien fighters that also includes the characters Korath (Djimon Hounsou), Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan), Att-Lass (Algenis Pérez Soto), and Bron-Char (Rune Temte). All-in-all, the new poster gives off a certain Green Lantern vibe, especially with the heavy emphasis on green in the costumes. See the poster below:

Another recently released set of stills from the movie gave the spotlight to Danvers’ Starforce crew, as well as affording a glimpse of Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau. In a clip that was released not long ago, Carol Danvers was seen doing epic battle with one of the movie’s shape-shifting alien bad guys the Skrulls. But if early screenings are any indication, the Skrulls, Starforce and even Captain Marvel herself might have to take a backseat to Goose, Carol Danvers’ beloved cat.

Excitement is obviously very high for Captain Marvel, which indeed marks a new era for the MCU, with a female character finally being given the lead of a solo movie. After her introduction in the film, Captain Marvel will also get a chance to play a role in the final battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Thus far, the marketing for the new Avengers movie has yet to reveal any footage of Captain Marvel herself, and that secrecy likely means that her role in the movie will be very important. As for the future of the MCU beyond the next Avengers entry, that seems very much up in the air, but it’s a fair bet Captain Marvel will be central to Kevin Feige’s plans.
