Warning: SPOILERS for Captain Marvel #12
The fans who had trouble believing Captain Marvel would actually turn to the darkness and set about killing the Avengers in a single day have had their eyes opened. The real tragedy, however, is the fact that comic readers only got a few panels to appreciate Captain Marvel’s new look… before she killed Thor in cold blood, and headed off to claim her next victim.
The debate of Captain Marvel or Thor being strongest is over for good, but Iron Man will have even less of a warning, now that Carol has come to kill him in the preview for Captain Marvel #13. Those looking for answers will probably want to sit back and enjoy the horror show for now, since it’s still not totally clear why Captain Marvel came to kill Thor to begin with. The only explanation she gave at the time was general regret, but a specific need to kill him quickly, allowing her to wipe up the remaining Avengers more easily. But from Marvel’s official preview, Tony is definitely going to be putting up a fight.
Eventually she murdered Thor, and decapitated him off-panel so that she could present his head as proof to Vox Supreme. The mutated Kree had previously appeared to slaughter the Inhumans, but now he’s commanding Captain Marvel to murder the Avengers in 24 hours. And now it’s one down, five to go – with Tony Stark next on the list. Check out the official preview pages below:
Only the finished story will explain how and why Carol has made this turn, but in the meantime readers can check out the full solicitations details and plot synopsis below:
