It seems that fans will be returning to Raccoon City a little sooner than expected, as Capcom has revealed that a demo of Resident Evil 3 is coming soon. Capcom announced the Resident Evil 3 remake last December, following months of rumors and leaks regarding the game’s existence.

The success of the Resident Evil 2 remake led to speculation that a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was on the cards, considering how both of the original games used similar assets and the same setting. The remake of Resident Evil 3 won’t include the Mercenaries mode, but the integrated world that wasn’t possible on the PlayStation means that Nemesis is a far more potent threat than he was in the original game, as it can pursue Jill throughout the game in the same way that Mr. X does in Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil 3 will include a multiplayer mode that forces players to team up and dispatch foes planted by another player, so it will likely have a lot more replayability than its predecessor.

Resident Evil 3 is meant to be released in April, but Capcom will soon give fans a chance to try out the game early. The official Resident Evil Twitter account has announced that a demo of Resident Evil 3 is on the way and fans will learn more about it soon. It’s currently unknown when the demo will be released.

Capcom released a timed demo for Resident Evil 2 before release called R.P.D, which gave the player thirty minutes to explore the Raccoon City Police Department. The R.P.D. demo did an amazing job of showing the improvements and new features present in Resident Evil 2. The initial buzz of seeing one of the old Resident Evil games remade as a modern title has now been spent on Resident Evil 2, so Capcom will need to do something special with the Resident Evil 3 demo.

Resident Evil 2 was one of the best games of 2019, but it was based on one of the best games on the PlayStation. Resident Evil 3: Nemesis wasn’t as impactful as its predecessor, which means that the developers of Resident Evil 3 have more room to change things in the story without drawing the ire of fans. Capcom wants to make the characters in Resident Evil 3 more interesting, so the events of the game could be expanded in different ways. The fans won’t have long to wait before they find out more, as the demo will give Capcom the chance to show off the new and improved Resident Evil 3 to the world.
