1. Soft Reset/Reboot the Phone

Not only Pixel but this applies to each and every electronic device. I used to tell my mom to restart her device if she faces any issue with her smartphone.

2. Reinstall Sim Card

I don’t think you need another tutorial to reinstall a sim card in your device. Just remove the sim tray from the device and restart the device and then reinsert it to the device.

  • Activate the flight mode.
  • Push Sim eject tool into the circular opening on the SIM card tray to remove it.
  • Power off the device.
  • Remove the Sim card from the Sim tray then place it back in.
  • Push the tray back into the slot.
  • Boot the device.

Try to create a text message to test if you can now send or receive the message on your device without getting any error.

3. Clear Data & Cache of Messaging App

  • Open Settings from Pixel Launcher.
  • Tap on Apps & Notifications.
  • Tap See All Apps.
  • Tap the Text Messaging app.
  • Tap Force stop.
  • Tap OK.
  • Tap Storage.
  • Tap Clear cache and also Clear Data.
  • Tap OK.

Wait until your device is finished clearing cache and data from the app then reboot your device.

4. Reset Network Settings

Well, this method may or may not help the process but still what’s wrong in trying. This will reset all the network settings from the device and restore it to the default settings. Follow the below steps to do so:

  • Open Settings from Pixel Launcher.
  • Scroll down and tap on System.
  • You will see an option named Reset options tap on it.
  • Then tap on Reset Wifi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  • Tap Reset Settings to continue.
  • If prompted, enter the correct passcode, PIN or pattern.
  • Tap Reset Settings again to confirm the action.

5. Factory Reset the Phone

From Settings:

  • Open Settings app from pixel launcher.
  • Scroll down and tap on the System option.
  • Tap on Advanced option.
  • Tap on Reset option.
  • Tap Erase all data (factory reset)
  • And then select Erase Everything.

From Recovery:

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Once it is turned off. Press and hold the power and volume down button simultaneously until the Google logo pops up.
  • Release the Power button but keep holding down the Volume Down button until the recovery mode screen appears.
  • Press the power button to boot into recovery mode.
  • Once booted in recovery mode, use the volume buttons to highlight the Wipe data/factory reset option.
  • Press the power button to select that option.
  • After reset, simply reboot to the system by using the volume and power buttons.
