The popular photo capture and image processing app Camera+ is out with a major update today. Camera+ 9 delivers the ability to shoot and edit RAW images, support for the iPhone 7 Plus dual camera and wide color photos, and more.
RAW shooting works on the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7, and 7 Plus with the latest software and can be turned on through the Quality and Format menu. Camera+ notes that RAW images are larger files and slower to capture, but allow you to capture and edit with the most control. RAW doesn’t work in all shooting modes though:
Camera+ 9 also includes other improvements on new iPhones like wide color support, haptic feedback throughout the app, and iOS 10 refinements on icons and widgets. Camera+ 9 is available for $2.99 on the App Store.
Camera+ isn’t just for shooting photos so version 9 includes something called the RAW Lab for editing those new shots.
One very nice thing about our RAW implementation is that we combine both the regular photo representation (JPEG or TIFF) and the RAW representation into one photo. This helps keep both your Lightbox and Photo Library neatly organized and prevents clutter.
