The former star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Caitlyn Jenner revealed that she tried to apologize to her children after they received backlash. Fans were upset when they noticed that not one of her six children and four former step-children made the treck to support her at her I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! exit.
Most people knew Caitlyn as an Olympian and Wheaties box cover model back when her name was legally Bruce Jenner. Jenner then came out as transgender back in April of 2015. During a 2017 interview, Jenner confirmed that she had undergone gender reassignment surgery. She revealed that always felt like a woman and the surgery had just enhanced that. She wanted to express that choosing to have the surgery never defined who she was as a human being.
After Catilyn’s exit from the UK show, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! she revealed that not one of her family members was there to greet her. She has decided to address this criticism of her children following her elimination on the show. It’s customary that all eliminated players are greeted with friends and family, so it came as a shock to see not one of her six children or four of her former stepchildren from her marriage with Kris Jenner. In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, the 70-year-old former Olympian revealed that it was actually her decision to not have any of her friends and family present at her exit.
She revealed that she went to her manager and close friend, Sophia Hutchins’ house instead. Caitlyn explained the reasoning behind her choice, saying, “My family are very well-known. I never asked any of them to come down or expected them to — they all have businesses and families.” The reality TV star then went on to explain that it made her feel “disappointed” that the public criticized her family, especially her children, upon seeing them absent from her exit. She revealed, “After the show was over, I texted or called all the kids to apologize.” Kim Kardashian, Caitlyn’s former step-daughter, revealed that no one from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! had contacted her for an appearance from any of the Kardashians or Jenners. Her son, Brandon Jenner, echoed the same sentiments regarding his absence.
It was a big scandal with people judging Caitlyn’s family for not supporting her on her reality TV endeavors, but it seems it’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! that is at fault for not reaching out. Regardless if anyone is at fault, Caitlyn seems to have coped just fine with it and understood that her family loves her and that they are extremely busy taking over the world.
