Bumblebee is one of the most popular names from The Transformers film franchise. Those who have followed The Transformers story know that Bumblebee is like the small kid brother of the group. He is a spy who takes a lot of risk for the Autobots, as is clearly evident in the movie Bumblebee.
Bumblebee survives a brutal attack by Blitzwing and other Decepticons and has to rely on his wit, and also his human ally Charlie. He is one small Autobot who packs a powerful sting, hence the name, and there are several rules that other Autobots should follow by his example.
LEARN TO BE RESILIENT
Bumblebee gets banged up quite a few times throughout Bumblebee. His main objective is to find a place so that the Autobots can regroup and assemble to plan an attack against the Decepticons. His trip to earth is not so pleasant when he lands, as he is immediately attacked by Sector Seven, and then things go from bad to worse for him while he is running from Sector Seven.
There is no time for rest when he runs into the triple changer Blitzwing. Bumblebee faces near extinction after his battle with the triple changer but turns the tables, allowing him to fight again!
FANCY TRICKS GET YOU OUT OF A JAM
After one unpleasant welcome, Bumblebee has to dash because of the perception of Sector Seven. It is only natural that an alien visitor be pursued after they crash land on earth, as evident in many films. As he tries to seek refuge, Bumblebee is attacked by Blitzwing by surprise. He puts up quite a struggle against Blitzwing for a while, until Blitzwing gets the upper hand.
Being the brave warrior that he is, Bumblebee does not speak about Prime’s whereabouts. After having his vocal box removed, Bumblebee does an awesome trick to save himself by opening a missile compartment on Blitzwing and jabbing Blitzwing with it, and then Bumblebee fires at the missile. Bye-bye Blitzwing.
USE THE ART OF STEALTH WHEN INJURED
The main purpose of being a Transformer is not to showboat, but to sink boats. The forces of good and evil contend to find energy and resources at any cost. It seems like a cool thing for a robot to transform into a vehicle, but there is more than meets the eye when it comes to transforming.
Bumblebee used his skill of stealth after barely surviving his attack with Blitzwing. He was able to power himself down and hide himself in his transform mode. He is fortunate enough to eventually buy some time in a junkyard and finally work his way into Charlie’s heart.
ROBOTS SHOULD FORM ALLIANCE WITH HUMANS
After Charlie finds B-127, also known as Bumblebee, in the junkyard, she finds herself tinkering with the Autobot. She gets more than what she expects out of her birthday present that her uncle gave to her. She then discovers that B-127 is more than just an old Volkswagen as she see his face.
Charlie in this storyline gives B-127 the name Bumblebee, and they form a very unique bond since Charlie is somewhat of an outcast. She tells her friend Memo about Bumblebee and they have some fun passing the time with the Autobot before she discovers that he is actually a spy from another planet whose purpose is to find safety for his teammates.
TRAVELLING ALONE IS A BAD IDEA
In the Generation 1 story arc of The Transformers the Autobots came to earth with their enemies, the Decepticons. The original Autobots that we came to know and love all arrived as a team. In the Bumblebee story arc, Optimus Prime makes a hasty and stupid decision to send the Autobot espionage to planet earth to establish an Autobot base of operations.
But hey, it does make for an interesting plot so that the hero proves his worth by having a hard time proceeding with his mission. Prime should have sent someone like Brawn or Ironhide to at least have a fighting chance against the Decpticons.
MORE AUTOBOTS SHOULD HAVE WINGS
Many people may not notice that the Autobots in vehicle mode have something missing. There are many of them that can transform into cars or trucks, but there are not many Autobots who can fly. This poses a problem in warfare, having a Volkswagen try to outrun a bomber jet.
Autobots need those types of flying vehicles to even the odds against the Decepticons. Blitzwing was able to get the drop on Bumblebee at first because of this disadvantage. The Transformers are lucky enough to transform and fight in robot mode, or else Bumblebee would have ended up as a yellow pile of rubble.
TRY TO COMMUNICATE BEFORE YOU VACATE
When Bumblebee lands on the earth, it causes quite a shock, literally. Agent Burns is just as surprised to see what he believes to be a hostile alien creature as Bumblebee is surprised to see him. Agent Burns does not quite know what to make of Bumblebee, and Bumblebee makes the mistake of just standing there quietly instead of communicating with Burns.
Burns gets angry and reacts the way anyone who encounters a transforming robot alien would. Bumblebee does the right thing in fleeing through the woods, but it would have been better for him to talk it out first.
DON’T SNOOP AROUND IN UNFAMILIAR PLACES
Never leave an Autobot by themselves in unfamiliar territory. Charlie thought all was safe to hide Bumblebee in the garage, but boy is she wrong. When Autobots are left home alone, they tend to get into trouble. Their oversized frames tend to break dishes and destroy couches with ease. Fitting through a door is challenging enough, but standing up in robot form is the worst.
Bumblebee found this out the hard way. Not only did he make Charlie angry by wrecking the house, but he accidentally caused a power surge. This surge alerts Sector Seven, who eventually catches up with Charlie and Bumblebee.
DEFEND EARTH BY YOURSELF, IF YOU MUST
Bumblebee gets to have all of the fun, or lack thereof, during the film. He is mostly by himself with only a hand full of allies that come to his rescue several times. It was not wise to send the little guy to a strange world by himself, but sometimes those types of decisions have to be made during a battle.
One thing that can be said of Bumblebee is that he went head-on with his foes. This did not work out to well for Cliffjumper, who ends up getting killed by Shatter and Dropkick. When going at it alone, its the effort that counts.
HIDE YOUR HOLOGRAPHIC MESSAGES ELSEWHERE
Where is the best place to hide a secret? Inside of a transformable cybertronian body. As Bumblebee gives Shatter and Dropkick the silent treatment while being chained up and tormented, Shatter and Dropkick find a very simple approach to a complex problem like this.
They simply beat the answers out of Bumblebee! They stomp on him until a holographic image of Optimus Prime appears and spills the beans. What an excellent place to hide a secret from your enemies! Seriously, Bumblebee should have kept a diary with a lock and key if he really wanted to hide something from the Decepticons.
