On the same day as the first customers get their hands on Apple’s latest iPad Pros, accessory maker Brydge is teasing its upcoming keyboard for the new devices. While details are sparse at this point, Brydge says the new keyboards will be shipping sometime in early 2019.
Brydge took to Twitter this evening to show off its new keyboards for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. On the surface, these keyboards have an even stronger resemblance to MacBooks than past Brydge models. Further, there’s a cutout along the front to make opening and closing the keyboard easier.
Many details about the new Brydge keyboard for iPad Pro remain unclear. When asked by a customer on Twitter if the keyboards still connect via Bluetooth, Brydge simply teased that it “can’t share all of our secrets at once.” Other details such as pricing and availability are also unclear at this point.
Brydge keyboards have become popular choices among certain iPad users as they provide more of a laptop feel than Apple’s own Smart Keyboard. With more sturdy hinge design, backlit keys, and an aluminum build, the experience is similar to that of a MacBook.
Brydge has run into quality control issues in the past, but this year the company says it’s cracking down on those issues. On Twitter, Brydge says that quality control will be “tighter than Fort Knox” this time around. You can sign up for more information about these keyboards on Brydge’s website.
