In its six seasons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has featured a who’s who of film and TV stars playing really memorable characters. While some are one offs, many are recurring appearances who have become an essential part of the show’s mythology.

It takes the best of the best to keep up with a comically brilliant cast. It’s almost impossible to narrow down the top guests, but there are definitely several we look forward to seeing again. With season eight already confirmed, these are 10 Brooklyn Nine-Nine guest stars we want to see return in season seven.

FRED MELAMED

Anytime the Nine Nine crosses paths with author DC Parlov, it gives the writers a chance to have fun with sci-fi fans. Skyfire is clearly a hilarious take on A Song of Ice and Fire, so with Game of Thrones’ controversial final season we definitely need to see Jake and Terry protect Parlov from disappointed fans.

Fred Melamed’s over the top crazy portrayal of a fictionalized George R.R. Martin is always full of character. It’s one of the show’s best running meta jokes. Perhaps the next time Melamed appears, the show can get one of the stars of Thrones to poke a little fun at themselves and the fandom.

JIMMY SMITS AND BERTILA DAMAS

Amy’s extremely organized, high achieving parents are a comically honest window into her personality. In “Two Turkeys” they clash with Jake’s less structured parents. It’s a face off we need to revisit now that the couple is married.

Bertila Damas was particularly savage when Amy’s older brother David, the favorite child, showed up. The way she unapologetically pitted her children against one another was so hilariously awkward, we couldn’t look away.

KATEY SAGAL AND BRADLEY WHITFORD

Jake has been very open, maybe too open, about his family issues. When we finally met them, we were pleasantly surprised to have TV vets Katey Sagal and Bradley Whitford as his unconventional parents. Though he was not happy for them to get back together, he reluctantly came to terms with the reunion.

Now that he’s older and married in his own right, we’re sure he has different feelings about their relationship. We’d love to see another awkward showdown between Jake and Amy’s parents, or maybe Roger Peralta finally meets his horrible daughter Katie, played by Nasim Pedrad.

CRAIG ROBINSON

Craig Robinson’s annual visits as “The Pontiac Bandit” Doug Judy have become as essential a part of the show as the Halloween heist. Though Judy consistently evades capture, his charming personality means Jake can’t stay mad at him.

The great chemistry between Andy Samberg and Robinson keeps the story fresh and not repetitive. We always know how the episode will end, but the ride is so fun, we’re never disappointed. At this point, Robinson is more of a recurring cast member than a guest star, but we can’t imagine a season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine without Doug Judy.

NIECY NASH

Andre Braugher’s Captain Holt is restrained, refined and almost never loses his cool. When we met his mother Laverne, we weren’t surprised to see she had similar traits. However, imagine our surprise when we discovered his sister Debbie was the polar opposite, and had a life filled with drama.

During Niecy Nash’s appearance as Debbie we didn’t get to see nearly enough of their relationship. We need to know more about their childhood, and if L. Scott Caldwell returns as Laverne, even better. A Holt family reunion, which obviously includes the always marvelous Marc Evan Jackson, is what the fans deserve.

NICK OFFERMAN

We’re happy anytime Nick Offerman shows up on our TV screen, but he was especially fun as Holt’s ex-boyfriend Frederick. As Terry’s wife Sharon went into labor in the precinct, Jake called on Holt to get ob/gyn Frederick’s help. The only problem, their break up revolved around a wooden duck that Holt hated.

As much as we love Holt and Kevin, we’d like Offerman to reappear with Frederick needing Holt’s help this time. The way the pair constantly rehashed their split was very funny and authentic. Our TV schedule always needs more Nick Offerman.

MAYA RUDOLPH

One of the highlights of Jake and Holt’s time in witness protection in Florida was Maya Rudolph as U.S. Marshal Karen Haas. She kept the duo in line, while hilariously examining her own needs and choices. When the guys took down Figgis and returned to New York, we never got to see her again.

We didn’t get a satisfying finish with Marshal Haas, so it’s time for her to make a return. From The Good Place to Bless the Harts to Saturday Night Live, Rudolph stays busy. We just hope the in demand actress can carve out some time to team up with the 99th precinct.

JASON MANTZOUKAS

From the moment he returned to the Nine Nine, Adrian Pimento has been comedy gold. He’s completely unstable and unaware of how ridiculous he is. Despite all his over the top shenanigans, Jason Mantzoukas made Pimento endearing and sweet.

The last time we saw Pimento he was just fired from his insurance investigator job, but had started working at a lotion store. Between The Good Place, John Wick: Chapter 3 and Invincible, Mantzoukas’ schedule is packed, but we need to know what Pimento is doing with himself now. He’s too fun to not visit again.

LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA

Finding out that Amy’s parents rank their children’s photos explains so much about her competitive nature and insecurities. With her drive and accomplishments, we were shocked to discover Amy’s brother David is actually the favorite child. Things got even better when superfan Lin-Manuel Miranda was cast as Lt. Santiago.

When David is framed by Brazilian drug dealers, the siblings’ competition spirals out of control and Jake has to reign them back in. Miranda fit right in with the overachieving Santiagos, and we want a return engagement with the whole family, including the other siblings.

NICOLE BYER

Just when we thought we’d done everything we could with Doug Judy, Nicole Byer showed up as his sister Trudy Judy. The way she unraveled Trudy from a woman being blackmailed to the boss of the operation was comedic brilliance. Her rapport with Terry Crews was fall off the couch funny.

Byer took the familiar plot of Doug doublecrossing Jake and made it her own. Given more opportunities, we can’t wait to see how far she can take Trudy. We’d also love to see her interact with the rest of the Nine Nine, especially Amy and Rosa.
